Lance and Rick Haslewood, Delaneys Creek, Queensland ....
VIN: SCEDT26T2CD010599

Purchased in December 1998 from a Sydney doctor, this DeLorean takes pride-of-place in the garage next to a
1976 LX SL/R 5000 Torana.

The car has had at least three previous owners, two of which were in possession after it was imported to Australia from the USA in the early 80's. When purchased by Lance in '98, the DeLorean needed some moderate repairs after spending quite a number years on show and un-driven at the Harris Street Auto Museum (also known as the Sydney Auto Museum) at Ultimo, Sydney.

Lance and Rick's DeLorean was featured in the Hawkesbury Independent (a monthly magazine distributed in the Windsor and Richmond area of New South Wales) in 2001 as well as featuring in a Foxtel television commercial in 2002 promoting the release of the Back To The Future trilogy DVD collection. The car has also been used at a number of high school formals, and more recently (Nov 2007), was used by Channel Nine Brisbane in a segment for the children's program THE SHAK.

Lance and Karen Haslewood moved from Windsor (western Sydney area) to Delaney Creek, Queensland in 2003 and this DeLorean adds one more to the Queensland DeLorean tally.

In 2006/2007, the DeLorean underwent an extensive engine overhaul following the discovery of internal corrosion back in 2003. As a consequence of this, the DeLorean was corralled for almost four years. It was in April 2007 that the car was once again back on the road.

In April (2007), Lance drove the DeLorean from Queensland to Tamworth to give the car a bit of a run following the engine rebuild, and in October, to Canberra to attend the Gullwing Gathering. On both trips, with a total of over 3,500 km accrued, the car performed flawlessly. Pics of the Canberra run can be seen HERE.
